Dear colleagues!

PROGRAM OF THE COMPETITIONS
FOR GUESTS OF OLYMPICS
REGULATIONS 2012

During April 25 till April 29, 2012, in “Peterburgsky” Sports and Concert Complex, St. Petersburg (Russia), The Sixth Martial Arts Olympics “East-West Open” will take place. This project exists since 1993. At 1993-2006, the competition has been held under the title "International Festival of Martial Arts" Sportive Russia "in Saint-Petersburg (Russia).

From year to year number of athletes increased, all new and new kinds of Martial Arts were involved in the competition program. In 2007, because of the large amount of participants and the diversity of Martial Arts kinds, the Festival's format was changed to the Olympics.

During the Olympics competitions are run continuously for three days at 32 tatamies & rings, but starting from 2012, will be held at 35 spots. To date, the Olympics became one of the largest events of its kind. Only in the year 2011, more than eight and a half thousand athletes from fifty four countries participated in it. We expect more sportsmen at next event.

Within Olympics competitions in all main kinds of Martial Arts have place (karate (WKF, WKC, IMAC-WKU), pointfighting, taekwondo (ITF, WTF), kiokusinkai, wushu, kumdo, kobudo, combat Sambo, Thai Boxing, speed breaking, grappling). In 2011, the two new kinds were introduced – Cossack hand-to-hand combat (RUBKA) and cyber skirmishing. We plan to increase program of year 2012 by three new kinds such as kickboxing, world all-style taekwondo & combat self-defense. In the relevant sections of our site you can familiarize yourself with the complete information on upcoming Olympic program, as well as with the rules of competitions for specific kinds and contact information of their coordinators.

The traditional and the most striking element of the opening ceremony is colorful Budo-show, which is a nationwide stage demonstration of Martial Arts culture of different countries.  With great pleasure we invite those who want to propose their skills for the Budo-show program to contact us.

In the representation of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs at April 26  so-called "Diplomatic Party” will have place. In addition to heads of national teams, leaders of different sport unions, leading domestic politicians and businessmen the representatives of diplomatic missions of Olympics countries-participants will be invited.  The experience of such parties which we had before was very successful.
